The magic swirled through her. She was incandescent. He was drawn to her like a moth to a bug zapper.

No time for banter; he had maybe five seconds before she teleported out or did something unpleasant to him.

“I’ve got the Obermeier talisman.” He watched her as she processed the implications. A chaos mage and a powerful witch could harness the talisman to travel to other realities. In other realities, they might find the people they'd lost here.

“C’mon, this world’s no fun.”

She smiled wryly. “You noticed that too?” She took his hands in hers. The talisman glowed.

Thanks! I think Ethan would be fascinated by the combination of magic and violence in Dark Willow. And there's that dark sense of humor in both of them.

I can't decide if I want them to be the snarkiest Big Bads ever in another reality, or maybe end up in a reality so dark that they're pretty much the least evil powerful people and the good guys are forced to work with them. Or maybe it could be a series and they could do it all.

I totally agree about the possibilities of these two teaming up. I have a couple of plot bunnies in this universe kicking around in my head. The hardest part for me would be the dialogue, because these two would be the snarkiest, funniest Big Bads ever.

Wow. I love BtVS like ... the way people love things they tend to become ever-so-slightly obsessed with, but there were so many potentially awesome relationships/interactions/connections left unexplored (which, to be fair, speaks to the sheer number of terrific characters on the show). 'Willow and Ethan doing stuff together' is now on my list of things I wish we could have seen.

Thanks. You've nailed the reason why I read and write mostly BtVS fanfic. There are so many great characters, so there's always interesting unexplored territory to explore.

Willow/Ethan interaction is a fascinating possibility to me because it could go anywhere from uber darkfic to light comedy while still keeping everyone in character.
