I don't know if it's a contrary streak, or just coming to the fandom very, very late, but I don't hate Kennedy. I liked Tara, and liked Willow/Tara until Willow got abusive and kind of soured the whole thing for me.
I pretty much agree with everything you've said here. I came here late myself, so I have no idea if it's a timing thing esp re: Kennedy. (when I first got into fandom, on the AV Club rewatches, the vitriol directed at her is pretty astonishing.)
I don't know if you read Spuffy fic but shapinglight's post-series fic, The King and She, includes a Willow and Kennedy who are arguing over who is going to carry the baby they are planning to have, and Willow is rather controlling if not downright scary at times. I honestly don't see them lasting, not because Kennedy's an awful person or from lack of love, but the major control issues, esp once Willow rebuilds her confidence. It'd be like two Queen Bees in one hive!
